Projects

We’re just at the start of setting up Transition Cowbridge but we’ve already had some brilliant successes. It’s a great moment to get involved.

  • We’ve started to organise litter picking sessions in the area. Just a few willing people can make a huge difference in just one hour!
  • We’ve developed a small community garden in an otherwise derelict plot of land, using permaculture techniques.
  • Shown the film ‘Age of Stupid’ to a full house at the Town Hall
  • Two of our group have given over their garden to crop growing so that others can learn from their experiences. We’re trying to convince them to blog about it…watch this space.
  • We’ve formed ongoing relations with people who can help with really useful courses, such as bee-keeping, bread making and permaculture techniques. If you have any suggests of something that would be good to know more about why not email us or even better actually organise and event.
  • We have run a successful bucket of potatoes growing competition, which has involved local schools and children.

We’ve lots of other exciting things planned and are always looking for other ideas. In fact without your input Transition Cowbridge is never going to flourish and grow. So drop us an email to join our mailing list or join us for a ‘green drink’ on the Second Tuesday of every month, normally at the Bear Hotel in Cowbridge. (join the mailing list to get the details)
