Big Thank you to Community Foodie and Waitrose for help at the Garden

Despite the weather we sprung into action this week to spruce up the community edible garden.

Thanks to the support of the Community Foodie project and Waitrose we were able to make some really good progress to maintain the garden and help it move forward.

Firstly with the support of Community Foodie, a project run by Creative Rural Communities we were able to access hands on support as well as landscaping materials. see www.communityfoodie.org for further details.

We were also really grateful to have the support of volunteers from Waitrose. Chris, Nicole and Julie who turned out despite the rain and got stuck in. for further details on the volunteer scheme  www.waitrose.com/home/inspiration/community_matters/about_community_matters.

So going forward we plan to have regular monthly work days on at the garden and this will include planting more perinatal fruits, vegetables and edible/medicinal herbs. We also plan to repair and expand the willow structures on the site.

We really enjoy getting our hands dirty in the garden, testing our planting and permaculture knowledge and meeting new and old friends.

If you would like to find out more about the garden and volunteer at our next work day please contact Rob or Michaela at transitioncowbridge@gmail.com
